Dr. David Soane

Dr. David Soane has been a serial entrepreneur for almost three decades. Before becoming a full-time entrepreneur, Dr. Soane was a tenured professor at the University of California, Berkeley, where he also earned his PhD in chemical engineering. His earlier startups were all built on advanced materials, particularly interfacial chemistry.
His more recent startups have focused on sustainability and decarbonization, as exemplified by Soane Energy, Soane Mining, and Transform Materials. David is an inventor of hundreds of U.S. and internationally-issued patents and published applications.
As the Founder and CEO of Carbogenesis, David leads a diverse team of scientists and engineers to achieve energy-efficient chemical conversion of CO₂ into high-value end products.
